A 16-day-old panda plays in incubator while mother looks after brother in a Belgium

The rare twin cubs were born at Pairi Daiza wildlife park on August 8 weighing just five ounces, but have tripled their weight in just 16 days, and the boy and girl (pictured top right and left) now weigh 15.6 and 16.9 ounces respectively. The girl, who does not have a name as the park are following a Chinese tradition which bans naming pandas until they are 100 days old, spent today being checked by experts in an incubator. Her brother, meanwhile, enjoyed bonding time with their mother Hao Hao. Their keepers switch the twins between their mother, and expert care in an incubator, every 24 hours. The cubs, which have just started forming the well recognised black and white pattern, were described as 'pink naked sausages' and 'shrimps' when they were born. 'They're getting hair, are fuzzy and have spots which is cool. Step by step they're looking like pandas. When they're born they look like pink naked sausages but now they're really cute,' a spokesman for Pairi Daiza wildlife park said. Pictured bottom right: Another panda, Cheng Cheng, gave birth to twins Shi Shi (pictured as a newborn) and Dian Dian at the Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Base at the southwestern province of Shichuan on September 12, 1998. They weighed five and two ounces.

Gold-clad Spanish bullfighter gored in the groin during Basque culture celebration

WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT. Paco Urena was pictured tussling with the animal as part of the Semana Grande (Big Week) fair in Bilbao, Basque Country, northern Spain yesterday. A photographer captured the moment the bull gored Mr Urena at the Vista Alegre bullring, during the Semana Grande festival which runs for August 17 to 25. The bullfighter, clad in a shimmering gold-coloured jacket and vibrant orange tights, can be seen making a pained expression as the bull lunges its horn between his legs as he seems to lose grasp of his archetypal red cape. Mr Urena had also been pictured smiling as he held two bull's ears as trophies (inset).

The trailer was seen veering across the motorway on the Surrey and Kent border. It caused delays of around 40 minutes as it zigzagged down the major road.

The magical moment a safari guide stops an approaching giant wild elephant in its tracks with a click of his fingers and a snap of his hand

Louie Taylor was on a trip through the Amakhala Game Reserve in South Africa on April 16 when his guided tour was halted by a herd of elephants. As the guide waited patiently, one of the more curious giants started staring at the group before taking steps towards the vehicle (shown). Almost instantly, the driver clicks his fingers a few times and flicks his hand in a way to shoo the elephant.

How roo-mantic! Incredible moment two joeys share a kiss in South Australia's Barossa

British-born photographer Steven Tillyer captured the amorous affair while visiting the Barossa Valley in South Australia back in January this year. The 28-year-old, who is originally from Epsom, Surrey, UK, but now resides in Adelaide, South Australia, said it was an incredible feeling to have captured such a 'romantic' shot. Steven said that while the steamy snap does make it seem like the pair are 'madly in love' and sharing a passionate kiss, the reality is that the kangaroos are both males who were photographed mid-fight.
