Lily Allen opts for a laidback look in a black T-shirt and bootcut jeans as she takes sunkissed stroll in London

She is a successful singer who is known for her edgy and often outlandish ensembles.

But Lily Allen kept her look uncharacteristically low-key as she stepped out in London's Notting Hill on Tuesday.

The Smile singer, 34, looked pensive as she strolled along in the sunshine, clad in a black T-shirt emblazoned with the phrase The Doors of Perception - the title of the 1954 book by Aldous Huxley.

Huxley's book details his psychedelic experience under the influence of mescaline in May 1953. It took its title from The Marriage of Heaven and Hell by poet William Blake

Lily paired the shirt - which featured the word 'Grace' on the front- with bootcut jeans and dove grey speckled trainers.

The songstress accessorised with a leather holdall as she made her way to a waiting car.

Her raven pixie crop was styled in a sleek side part while her pretty features were enhanced with a simple swipe of mascara.

Lily enjoyed a successful return to music with her fourth album in 2018, four years after releasing the underwhelming comeback album Sheezus.

She previously told Vulture that she blames some of her lost self-esteem and personal troubles on her comeback to music.

She said: 'I lost my sense of self. I lost my identity. I was being a bad mum. I was being bad at my job. I'd wake up on a tour bus in the middle of Wisconsin and be so hung-over.

'I cheated on my husband. All I wanted to do was be with my kids. I wasn't even making any money.'

The Sun recently reported that Lily had split from record label IE amid her album suffering from low sales.

Speaking to the publication, a source said: 'IE: Music had thought they would be a match made in heaven with Lily but it has proved the opposite. Her album was a disappointment when it came to sales, peaking at just No. 8 in the charts.

'She also struggled to sell tickets for the American leg of her No Shame tour last year — and pulled out of two dates, in Chicago and Minneapolis, due to an inflamed throat and vocal cords.'

It has been reported that the star is now being managed by her ex boyfriend Seb Chew, who she broke up with in 2007

The singer has since spoken out against reports that she was dropped by the label and said she left the company voluntarily.

She tweeted: 'Couldn't be further from the truth. I gave them their notice in [October]. All very amicable.

'And honestly, I have not been happier in years and most importantly my kids are doing great. Don't believe the hype pls.'
